CULTURAL ECO HUB

A working title, the concept of this project has been talked about for many years. It is seen as a physical place for the operation of four interconnected functions:

  • Eco-Tourism experience
  • Education
  • Training
  • Resource Centre

Following is a link to the feasibility study, next step is to identify a location and build a business case around that location. We welcome your continued feedback.

WHANGANUI MĀORI INTERPRETIVE SIGNAGE PROJECT

This project is led by hapū for hapū with hapū who whakapapa and live on the Whanganui River. It starts at the North Mole in Kokohuia (Castlecliff) and reaches over to Ngāhuinga (Cherry Grove), Taumarunui.

This is an opportunity for hapū to strengthen and build infrastructure in their communities and or tell stories they are comfortable with sharing with manuhiri (visitors), wider whanau and other communities. It’s a chance to introduce directional or protocol signs for eg. guidelines about the process for access and behaviour before walking onto Marae and Urupa.

We welcome and invite any hapū member who is interested in being part of this opportunity to make contact.
